Suraj Rao, Vice President, Analytics at Western Digital, leads the Advanced Analytics Office to deliver enterprise-wide analytics solutions for business value.  His office uses advanced analytic methods, Industry 4.0 technologies and big data solutions to solve difficult factory and customer problems. These solutions are developed in agile style rapid learning cycles and delivered into production environment. the solutions span diverse applications, such as, machine learning workloads for factory disposition, digital twins for factory optimization, operations research solutions for logistics, telemetry analytic for fleet management of assets, etc.

Prior to joining WDC, at IBM, he led business value and analytics solution implementation for semiconductor and industrial products practices.  Earlier at PDF Solutions, a niche semiconductor consulting firm, he led rapid yield improvement engagements in some of the largest fabs in Asia such as, TSMC, Toshiba, Sony and Renesas.

Suraj earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA from The Wharton School, and a MS/BSc. from Indian Institute of Technology (KGP).
