Nathan Wood Bio: Leader, North American Data Architecture, Pure Storage

Nathan Wood joined Pure in April 2018 as the leader of the data architecture team for the Eastern United States and Canada where he was responsible for recruiting and leading the first team of customer facing data-centric personnel. Nathan has continued to expand his team of specialists and their scope to include customer data solution deployments  in Enterprise, Commercial, Public Sector, and US Federal. His team of Data Architects (DA’s) are the “first responders” in Pure’s efforts to assist customers with the diversity and complexity of data-centric operations.
Prior to joining Pure, Nathan worked for several pioneers and start-ups in the NAND storage industry focusing on customer deployments of the technology and the outcomes driven requirement for faster access to ever growing datasets. He was part of the team that took the first server-centric NAND solution to market at Fusion-io in 2011. He lead a team of data specialists at SanDisk focused on scaling CEPH implementations in both data analytics and machine learning in 2014. He then went on to found/lead a team dedicated to Intel Optane adoption in the data analytics and AI/ML  space at Vexata in 2016.
Prior to his experiences in the NAND space, Nathan ran data centers and data operations as an end-user across several verticals. From the analysis of the deed, plat, and lien data/images from the last 150 years in the State of Georgia to developing basic prediction algorithms for retail pharmacy staffing; Nathan has been working with all forms of data from the beginning of his 25 year technical career.
Nathan is a regular presenter at technical events focused on data analytics and AI/ML across the United States for both public and private audiences
