Betsy Hilliard is the Chief Science Officer at Valkyrie, an AI, ML, and Knowledge Engineering Firm focused on bringing business value to its clients through AI services. She has experience implementing AI solutions for the DoD and Fortune 1000 companies across verticals including financial services, consumer hardware products, and automotive. Betsy specializes in graph-based machine learning, Reinforcement Learning, and recommendation systems, and has a Master’s in Computer Science from Brown University where she was a research assistant and published work on Multi-agent learning in economic markets and Reinforcement Learning for human-agent collaboration. She studied Computer Science and Economics at Brandeis University. Betsy has designed and overseen dozens of AI, ML, and Knowledge Engineering solutions, across verticals, in the past six years. She also established and oversees Valkyrie’s Algorithm Accountability practice which brings best-in-field approaches to identifying and managing ethical and bias concerns in AI delivery for all Valkyrie’s clients.
