Computer Vision for Retail: Building a scalable Item Recognition system
Computer Vision based item recognition has several applications in retail but is riddled with problems in scalability and efficiency. There are typically several thousand items in a store and the items vary even more across multiple stores. Maintaining recognition accuracy across all stores and promising scalability to new stores is paramount to a successful item recognition system. In this presentation, we'll look into some of the common problems that affect item recognition in retail stores, and possible solutions to combat these problems.
