Dev Singh |
Dev Singh is responsible for leading and managing the robotics and intelligent machines within Qualcomm Technologies’ IoT business unit. As robotics, drone, and intelligent machine lead, Dev has overseen countless launches of world-changing, next-generation technology, including the Qualcomm Flight Platform, which powered the Mars Perseverance rover and the Ingenuity helicopter on the first-ever Mars flight. While the platform was not originally developed for space travel, it had the high power and unique features that NASA/JPL required, including powerful autonomous operation features, making it the best choice to tackle challenges of this historic flight. |

Samsara |
Distracted driving kills thousands of people in the U.S. annually. Through the use of IoT sensors, AI-enabled cameras, and a cloud platform, Samsara helps organizations prevent these incidents at scale. AI detections for behaviors such as phone usage, tailgating, and distracted driving trigger in-cab alerts to correct and coach driver behavior in real time, helping to prevent incidents before they occur. In a recent customer analysis, users of Samsara video-based safety and telematics solutions together saw a 63% decrease in crashes within the first 12 months. |

The judges were particularly impressed with:
|
The Technology Leader of the Year should be able to showcase outstanding success in the field of AI, IoT, or Quantum Computing by demonstrating innovation and leadership. This award celebrates the performance of those who have driven meaningful change or spearheaded innovative projects within the global technology ecosystem.
The AI/IoT Application of the Year will be an outstanding project which has fueled business growth and change. Preference will be given to projects that demonstrate the combined powers of the two technologies as they merge, but we’re also interested to hear about standalone technology applications too!
Celebrating success in the tech industry
Achieve industry-wide recognition, boost your company profile, and showcase your brand and products.
The Applied Intelligence Awards are run in a collaboration with three great publications; IoT World Today, AI Business and Enter Quantum, so even making the shortlist provides global exposure to you or your projects. Those on the shortlist will also receive complimentary tickets to Applied Intelligence Live!, previously The AI Summit & IoT World Austin, this November, so you can soak up the knowledge, network, and then join the rest of the shortlist for celebratory drinks.
The winners will be announced on the morning of Day Two of the event. They will receive trophies, bragging rights and an exclusive interview with our Editorial team.
Siddhartha Kulkarnni, Head of Equipment IoT, Maersk
Siddhartha’s entry showed him to be a visionary leader with great business and technology acumen. He built an IoT system that helped Maersk transform from a shipping organization to a logistics organization. And then extended the digitization landscape to assets deployed across multiple business domains (container, vessels, terminals, and warehouses) while managing a multi-billion-dollar asset base effectively.
Chicago Transit Authority Pilot Project / Digi International
Amid the COVID-19 restrictions, public transit agencies are managing highly variable ridership as well as ensuring they provide healthy, safe transportation. In response to this, City Tech and the Chicago Transit Authority deployed an IoT smart transit pilot on the 79th Street bus route to provide real-time insights on occupancy to help transit agencies proactively meet demand, reduce both passenger crowding and wait times, and provide a safe, socially distanced rider experience.
We ran the UK edition of the Awards in June and were delighted to crown Ben Dias, Director of Data Science and Analytics at EasyJet and Ana Echeverri, Director - Services Subscriptions for IBM as AI Innovators of the Year.
I work for an agency, can I nominate a client?
Of course! Nominate now.
Can I nominate multiple people/projects from the same business?
Yes, providing each nomination is unique this is fine. What we do not allow is duplicate nominations (same name, same reasoning multiple times) – this will not give you more chance at being shortlisted and may results in the nomination being disqualified.
