LAST YEAR'S WINNERS

Technology Leader of the Year

Dev Singh, Qualcomm

Dev Singh
Senior Director, Business Development and Head of Autonomous Robotics, Drones and Intelligent Machines, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

Dev Singh is responsible for leading and managing the robotics and intelligent machines within Qualcomm Technologies’ IoT business unit.

As robotics, drone, and intelligent machine lead, Dev has overseen countless launches of world-changing, next-generation technology, including the Qualcomm Flight Platform, which powered the Mars Perseverance rover and the Ingenuity helicopter on the first-ever Mars flight.

While the platform was not originally developed for space travel, it had the high power and unique features that NASA/JPL required, including powerful autonomous operation features, making it the best choice to tackle challenges of this historic flight.

AI/IoT Application of the Year

Samsara

Samsara
Connected operations cloud for drivers

Distracted driving kills thousands of people in the U.S. annually. Through the use of IoT sensors, AI-enabled cameras, and a cloud platform, Samsara helps organizations prevent these incidents at scale.

AI detections for behaviors such as phone usage, tailgating, and distracted driving trigger in-cab alerts to correct and coach driver behavior in real time, helping to prevent incidents before they occur.

In a recent customer analysis, users of Samsara video-based safety and telematics solutions together saw a 63% decrease in crashes within the first 12 months.

Nick Abbatiello, Dell Technologies

Accepted by Nick Abbatiello,
Sr. Distinguished Engineer

The judges were particularly impressed with:

  • The millions of pounds worth of sustainable, recycled and renewable materials used in products and packaging, especially last year’s launch of PCs containing tree-based bioplastic upcycled from the paper-making industry and ocean-bound plastic.
  • The strong commitment that by 2030, Dell Technologies will reuse or recycle an equivalent product for every product purchased and that 100% of packaging and more than half of product content will be made from recycled or renewable material.
  • The work being done in communities around the world to increase digital inclusion through access to technology, skills and collaborative networks that foster digital transformation and tech-enabled innovation.

Celebrating success in the tech industry

Achieve industry-wide recognition, boost your company profile, and showcase your brand and products.

The Applied Intelligence Awards are run in a collaboration with three great publications; IoT World Today, AI Business and Enter Quantum, so even making the shortlist provides global exposure to you or your projects.

Those on the shortlist will also receive complimentary tickets to Applied Intelligence Live!, previously The AI Summit & IoT World Austin, this September, so you can soak up the knowledge, network, and then join the rest of the shortlist for celebratory drinks.

The winners will be announced at Applied Intelligence Live! and will receive trophies, bragging rights and an exclusive interview with our Editorial team.

NOMINATE YOUR WINNER TODAY

The Applied Intelligence Awards, a coming together of the IoT World Awards and the AIconics, is a benchmark for industry excellence.

Please provide a brief (up to 200 words) summary of why you believe this AI/IoT application should win, as well as any other relevant details such as how the application merges both AI and IoT together.

If you are nominating someone else / another business, please provide their details, rather than your own.

Please also note that multiple nominations of the same application will not increase their chance of making the shortlist and may even result in their disqualification.

I work for an agency, can I nominate a client?

Of course!

Can I nominate multiple people/projects from the same business?

Yes, providing each nomination is unique this is fine. What we do not allow is duplicate nominations (same name, same reasoning multiple times) – this will not give you more chance at being shortlisted and may results in the nomination being disqualified.

Is there a deadline for nomination?

Nominations are closed for 2022, and will reopen for the 2023 awards in May.
